UNC youth arm gives PM full support

UNC Youth Arm stands with Honorable Prime Minister and Political Leader Kamla Persad Bissessar SC.

The United National Congress Youth Arm wishes to reiterate its support not only for our Honorable Prime Minister and Political Leader, Kamla Persad Bissessar, but also for the integrity based measures she has implemented since taking office. As the Youth of the UNC, we have full confidence in her decisive leadership reflected in the changes made to cabinet due to disciplinary action.

Despite the fact that it was evidently a physically and mentally challenging move, we take this time to commend the Prime Minister for her decision to absorb the responsibility of being the Minister of the People and Social Development, given the stellar performance of the past office holder. As an official arm of the party, we wish to take this time to thank MP Ramadharsingh for his hard work over the past four (4) odd years in his ministerial role and do look forward to his continued dedication to the constituency of Caroni Central along with his National Executive Position of Central Coordinator.

It must be noted that Prime Minister Kamla Persad Bissessar continues to stand head and shoulders above her predecessors and competitors, as her past and ongoing decisions have all been made with only the best interest of our citizens at heart. Such leadership has repaid the public’s trust, as she has become the first in our Nation’s history to make so many changes to her cabinet in order not to deviate from the People’s Mandate – the basis on which this Government was elected in 2010.

Apart from these disciplinary actions, our esteemed Prime Minister continues to demonstrate her will to develop the local democratic structure by ensuring freedom of the press, as seen in instances such as the removal of Criminal Libel and by calling the ‘Local Government’ elections ON TIME. Notwithstanding that the Ministry of the People was her brainchild, it is clear to see that there is no better option to fill this portfolio than the Honorable Kamla Persad Bissessar, who no doubt will continue to champion the causes of helping the less fortunate and poverty reduction.

The Honorable Prime Minister has ensured that each young person has a place, a plan and a purpose in, and it is because of her astute leadership, that the UNC Youth Arm has no reservation in declaring full confidence in Kamla Persad Bissessar as leader of the UNC and Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago 2015 and beyond!
