MP Khadijah Ameen wants justice for Kiss Driver’s death
Member of Parliament for St. Augustine, Ms. Khadijah Ameen is calling for justice for the death of Kiss delivery driver, Neil Ballai. Ballai was killed in a hit and run accident along the Solomon Hochoy Highway on March 28th around 6.45am while performing his duties as a delivery driver. Video footage showed a Black Hyundai Ionic car hit the Kiss delivery truck that Ballai was driving from the back causing him to run off the road and crash before speeding away. The driver of the car that crashed into Ballai, a 30-year-old member of the TT Regiment, was released without charge on April 2nd.
MP Ameen spoke at the funeral yesterday (April 5th) in Spring Village, St. Augustine where she demanded that the police inform the family on the status of the investigation and whether they intend to charge anyone. The St. Augustine MP stands with the family in their time of grief as there is a sense of injustice as the person responsible for the death of Ballai was released.
