The Membership of the United National Congress Youth Arm stands firmly in support of Honourable Kamla Persad Bissessar as leader of the United National Congress and Opposition Leader. The Leadership of Kamla Persad Bissessar over the past five years have been very inspirational to the Young People of the United National Congress as well as the entire nation of Trinidad and Tobago. Young people are not only the future but are the present and deserve to be equal partners in national development and for the first time in our nations history young people were allowed to be part of a national framework influencing and impacting the policies which affect their lives.

The Political Leader of the United National Congress became the first leader willing to give young people a chance to reach their full potential by including them as Members of Parliament , Senators , Candidates as well as members of boards and special committees. As Prime Minister the National Youth Development Agenda as defined by the United Nations was eagerly implemented and pursued through the Ministry of Youth and Ministry of Tertiary Education. For the first time in the Caribbean there was the establishment of a National Youth Commission coupled with the push to extend gate to Technical and Vocational Skills.

Honourable Kamla Persad Bissessar has shown in the past five years both as leader and Prime Minister to have a solid vision for and commitment towards the Young People of Trinidad and Tobago. Thus the Youth of the United National Congress stand firmly in support of our leader and remain confident that she will ensure the rise of the United National Congress again and more importantly that the rights and freedom of the People of Trinidad and Tobago are upheld.
