UNC Women Congratulates Prime Minister Kamla on Decisive Action

The Women’s Arm of the United National Congress wishes to congratulate the Hon Kamla Persad Bissessar on decisive action regarding the cabinet reshuffle yesterday, in light of recent controversy which has brought the Office of the Attorney General and Ministry of National Security into disrepute.
The Hon Prime Minister has always acted in the best interest of country and has always put the greater good of Trinidad and Tobago first, regardless of the circumstances. For this she must be highly commended.
As Chairman of the UNC Women’s Arm, I am proud to be able to continue serving in a Government which has delivered to the people and continues to do so. I wish to sincerely thank the Prime Minister to have been given the opportunity to serve as a Minister of State in the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure and with the same dedication, commitment and energy that I served in that Ministry, I look forward to the opportunity to serve in the Ministry of Gender, Youth and Child Development with the Minister of Gender, Youth and Child Development, the Hon Clifton DeCoteau. The reason I decided to get into politics as a young person was to be able to help people and make a contribution to my country. I believe that as a young woman, I will be able to make a valuable contribution in this Ministry and I look forward to working with the team there.
The Women’s Arm continues to be proud of the Hon Kamla Persad Bissessar for serving her country without fear or favor.
