Statement by former AG Ramlogan on Integrity Commission findings

From the inception of this matter, I have done everything possible to prove that these emails were bogus and fake. These findings are but the latest instalment of independent and credible determinations, which confirm the lack of substance in these pernicious allegations.

It is ironic that Dr. Rowley consistently placed his faith in the integrity commission and now that we have been cleared, he is suddenly attempting shift the spotlight unto the police investigation. It is amusing to say the least that he seeks to rely on the police investigation when he did not even see it fit to make a police report about these allegations of criminal conspiracy.

For me, it is reminiscent of his baseless accusation that I had visited the New York mission and made racist statements to the staff despite the fact that I had never even visited New York.

He persisted with that foolish allegation even though I produced my passport for over 2 years and eventually muttered an apology in Parliament.

I was a special target for the PNM and its friends and agents. 90% of the emails were attributed to me and was sent from an account (anan@gmail.com) that is non-existent.

I call upon the Deputy DPP and Commissioner of Police to broaden their investigation to determine who was responsible for perpetrating this massive and dangerous fraud on the people of Trinidad and Tobago

Email gate was a carefully orchestrated political conspiracy with the sole aim of destroying my character and well as that of the Honourable Prime Minister and other colleagues.

It was a weapon of mass political destruction and the Police must now investigate a real criminal conspiracy, as they have been wrongly focusing on the victims of this fraud to the exclusion of the perpetrators of the fraud.

Dr. Rowley must therefore come clean and tell the nation the true source of the fabricated document he read in Parliament. The conspirators must be exposed, charged and prosecuted.

It has not been easy to live with these PNM-generated clouds of suspicion hanging over my head but I know that all of the allegations will be exposed for the lies that they are, one by one.

I have every confidence that the friends and agents of the PNM who joined hands to conspire against me will all be exposed in the fullness of time, as the light of the truth will always prevail over the darkness of these mischievous allegations.
