REPORTS OF ILLEGAL QUARRYING ON SAN FERNANDO HILL

The Ministry of Energy and Energy Affairs (MEEA) today received reports of illegal quarrying activity in the vicinity of the San Fernando Hill. Upon receipt of this report a team of officers was dispatched to investigate the allegation. The preliminary findings of this team indicate that the excavation on this site is connected to development work related to the construction of a commercial property. The MEEA further advises that no licence for mining has been granted to anyone or any entity for quarrying at this site or in the vicinity of the San Fernando Hill. The MEEA will continue to monitor the situation and provide the public with updates.
