Senator Nakhid Writes COP on Government’s Misbehaviour in Office
Reference is made to the captioned matter and to my letter dated the 9th November, 2022 which was served upon and accepted by you personally at the Police (TTPS) headquarters in Port of Spain on the 9th November, 2022.
By my letter dated the 9th November 2022, I requested inter alia that you demonstrate your independence and competence by acting in the public’s interest to immediately investigate whether government members had conspired or committed acts to pervert the course of justice or acts amounting to misbehaviour in public office.
On the said 9th November, 2022 you personally informed me that you would respond to the said letter and was taking advice from the DPP’S office as the matter was now in the hands of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
To date I have not received a response to the said letter as promised. In the circumstances, I call on you to furnish me with a response to my letter dated 9th November 2022 and an update on whether this most henious matter is being investigated.
