Kamla congratulates Narendra Modi on Re-election as India’s Prime Minister

I would like to sincerely congratulate and offer best wishes to the Honourable Narendra Modi on his re-election as Prime Minister of India. The landslide victory for his Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) demonstrates the confidence, hope and belief the citizens of the world’s largest democracy have in his stellar leadership.

Prime Minister Modi must not only be congratulated for his recent sterling electoral performance but also for the significant economic and social development which he has been undertaking within the Indian Republic. His reforms have assisted millions out of poverty while they have ensured that young people become part of the national decision-making process.

Narendra Modi is an inspiration for many given his life story of determination and resilience which resulted in him working his way up from a tea vendor to becoming the Prime Minister.

Prime Minister Modi has demonstrated throughout his career, and more so his life, that he is a true servant of the people. His dedication to his country and citizens has been evident from his post as Organizing Secretary of BJP’s Gujarat wing in the 1980s, his tenure of four terms as Chief Minister of Gujarat and now as Prime Minister.

On behalf of the United National Congress, I wish Prime Minister Modi continued success in his endeavours both nationally as well as on the global stage.
