It’s an offence: hold Dr Rowley responsible
After a long and intense probe, acting Commissioner of Police Stephen Williams stated that the 31 e-mails read by Opposition Leader Dr Keith Rowley into the Hansard in Parliament on May 20 were indeed fake. Williams maintained that a successful and timely probe into emailgate couldn’t take place without the cooperation of Persad-Bissessar, AG Ramlogan, national security adviser Gary Griffith, Local Government Minister Surujrattan Rambachan and Dr Rowley.
I am not the least bit surprised by the outcome of the investigation since from the onset, any sober minded person could have seen the fabrication. However, this raises the issue of whether or not Dr Keith Rowley should go unscathed. It should be an offence for any public official to bring such allegations against the Prime Minister and other Government officials once they have been proven false.
Our country’s business had to take a back seat to accommodate Dr Rowley’s motion of no confidence. In my opinion, Dr Rowley should be held accountable for his deception. At least now the citizens can have closure on this issue and the PP Government can continue with the business of running the country. Dr Rowley, you should reconsider your political career, because even the Opposition PNM deserves better leadership.

My Dear ANN, has the acting Commissioner of Police produced any evidence to support his ‘claim’ that the Emails are fake? Is he singing for his supper- a six month extension of his position? Until we have concrete evidence you should refrain from making judgemental comments.
