APPROXIMATELY 7,000 persons have been removed from the TT Food Card programme.
This was revealed by Minister of the People Dr. Glenn Ramadharsingh.
He said some of these persons were never in need of the card while 2,000 persons have given back their food cards.
Ramadharsingh said as more persons seek to join the food card program others have been removed who are no longer in need of assistance.
He added that the food card was never meant to provide assistance for life to an individual.
Ramadharsingh disclosed that persons are systematically removed every three months to ensure there are no abuses.
