LettersThis country has been in political turmoil for some time with many groups engaging in protest actions.

The blogs, talk shows and other  media all carry news of  disgruntled persons spewing venom at the Government.

Now is the time to stop talking and get into  action with real solutions by putting the right persons in positions of which they continually complaining.

Let us put Ancel Roget as the Chairman, President and CEO of Petrotrin. He has all the answers as to workers rights and every solution to deal with the countries energy problems. He would surely have learnt the hard way from his miserable and horrendous experience at Trinidad Cement when he caused scores of workers to lose their jobs and hundreds to lose their salaries.

He must  give his workers the undertaking that he will turn around the company in 7 days, get all the plants working and increase oil and gas production. He must also allow workers to protest if they do not get time off to enjoy their mid morning snack and allow them time to join protest marches throughout the country.

With his wealth of knowledge of spewing gas, Ancel Roget is best suited to deal with the losses incurred by the previous PNM administration and at the same time finish the construction of the new administration building. His vast knowledge of balance sheets and profit and loss accounts will surely endear him to the workers who will feel assured that the Comrade will be able to deal with all the variables.

Given Roget’s wealth of knowledge he will surely be willing to serve on the Constitution Review Committee, the Environment Management Authority, the Law of the Sea grouping, Nutritional health and also engage in policy discussions on the rights of gays and lesbians and most importantly a review to make primary school exams easier.

Joseph Remy should be put in charge of TSTT and his connections should allow him to increase workers salaries buy 100% while at the same time reducing the high charges inflicted by the communications company. He too should allow workers to march around the city if they feel they were deprived of their chubby soft drink while answering a call or climbing a pole.

Anand Ramessar must head the Police Service as he has shown he has the head to do so. With his law degree he may be able to appear in court at any time  as a crime fighter to challenge laws which a duly elected Government passes in Parliament to fight crime. He will be able to demonstrate that without help from soldiers he will be able to raise the detection rate of an undermanned police service. He will reveal to all that he could allow a disciplined arm of the state to have a candlelight vigil  to protest against the Government legislation  while at the same time not providing candles on the graves of those who he could not protect. Anand will also show that he could listen on his cell phone ear piece, speak and have lunch all at the same time.

Cabrera, Abdullah  and the others could continue to join the wrong table and protest that they have not been called to serve.

Easy as Sunday morning!

Oops,ah forget Ramesh!
Margaret Singh.
