Good service at San-Fernando Hospital
Wednesday, March 27 2013
THE EDITOR: Recently with the horror stories coming from the General Hospitals I would like the opportunity to air my story which was quite the opposite. I was 34 weeks pregnant when I was admitted to the maternity ward of the San Fernando General Hospital for some bleeding. I was attending a private hospital when my doctor advised me this would be the best thing for me and my baby in the event I was to give birth. After much reluctance I went. To my surprise I was immediately taken to the ward, admitted, waited about 15 minutes and was attended to by a doctor, given a bed and was sorted by the nurses.
Thereafter I was discharged the following day. Approximately one month ago at 37 weeks I went into labour in the wee hours of the morning. Again, when I arrived at the hospital I was immediately taken to the labour ward where, within an hour’s time I had to undergo an emergency c-section. My baby was healthy and so was I. I would simply like to say thank you to the staff of the hospital both doctors and nurses for their care and keep up the good work. I would admit I encountered minor hiccups but all in all the service was commendable.
