Urgent need for repair of the Guaracara Tabaquite Road
The burgesses of the Ben Lomond/Hardbargain/Williamsville electoral district and the wider community that traverse the Guaracara Tabaquite Road are calling on Minister Rohan Sinanan to intervene and ensure the repair of the roadway and increasing landslips.
The residents are grateful for the portion of the road that was paved earlier this year and the multiple patching exercises. However, the roadway is still in a deplorable condition, and we are kindly asking that more is done given the immediate threat of life and loss of property. We have numerous potholes that can be compared to craters, and landslips of astronomical impacts. The recently repaired Garth Road landslip has not only become an eyesore but a serious hazard.
Life has become difficult for the commuting residents who are already inundated by the impact of Covid-19. It is unfair currently that persons must spend extra on increased vehicular repairs and maintenance costs due to the deplorable state of the road. While we understand the economic effects of Covid-19, it is noticeable that resources are being allocated for numerous development projects, most notably the cultural development drive through the TTD 14 million pan yard. I am informed that there is a lack of material accessible to the Ministry to do repairs and I believe that your personal intervention is required to bring resolve.
The citizens are asking for your immediate intervention and assistance.
