Rowley pushing fear and propaganda
The Editor:
Have you ever searched the meaning of politics? A general search states that politics is the activities associated with the governance of a country or other area, especially the debate or conflict among individuals or parties having or hoping to achieve power. It is the practice and theory of influencing other people on a global, civic or individual level.
For a general election in the US, each candidate vying for a post in leadership, need to demonstrate to the electorate their views on issues affecting the citizens. Sometimes even a mere slip off the tongue causes one to lose crucial points detrimental to them, even if they are in the lead.
The politics of recent times in T&T is very amusing. I spend my time looking forward to seeing what issues are being discussed at the forefront of our local politics. I have observed that instead of presenting the population with a vision and proper plan for the development of Trinidad and Tobago, Dr Rowley has chosen to continue down a path of trying to create fear and propaganda. Is that the way he hopes to achieve power? This is not good for a “prime minister in waiting”. Why not use facts and proper vision rather than try to mislead the population on fabrications? That type of politics utilised in the 80’s and 90’s are over. As education became more accessible to citizens, we also expect and demand a better level of politics.
