Ramdial – Greater Police Presence Needed in Central
The homicide in Chase Village today has triggered an immediate response by Member of Parliament for Couva North, Ramona Ramdial.
“I would like to urgently appeal to the Minister of National Security, Edmund Dillon to increase the police presence in central Trinidad. The investigation into this most recent killing must be completed in a timely manner and arrests have to be made quickly to ensure residents of their safety”, said Ramdial.
“Recent weeks have seen an increase in crime in central and I am therefore asking for more police patrols and continued installation of CCTV cameras in order to effectively monitor criminal activity. The People’s Partnership Government had heavily invested in installation of CCTV cameras and intended to continue installation in south and central Trinidad in our second term in government”, she added.
Ramdial said this is her second appeal to the new Minister of National Security since elections to increase crime prevention efforts in central Trinidad and she hopes for a favorable response.
