Ramdial: Explain $370 Million Increase For New Tobago Terminal
MP Ramona Ramdial is calling on Minister Colm Imbert to explain to the people of Trinidad & Tobago, the astronomical increase by $370 million in cost of construction of the new Tobago airport terminal from $500 million to $870 million.
MP Ramdial wants to remind Minister Imbert that in 2018 at a post cabinet conference he said that the new Tobago terminal was expected to cost $500 million.
Minister Imbert at last week’s signing of contracts between NIDCO and China Railway for the new Tobago Terminal said government will now be spending a whopping $1.2 billion for the entire project, with $870 million to build the new airport terminal; an increase by $370 million.
MP Ramdial again indicates that this Rowley led government continues to sink Trinidad and Tobago into further debt by increasing its borrowing through arrangements like these which will take generations to repay to the government of China.
MP Ramdial is hoping Minister Imbert can explain the increased cost since at this time the population thinks that this is yet another corrupted government deal.
