Opposition recommendations to Gov’t on COVID-19
Leader of the Opposition, Kamla Persad-Bissessar, SC, MP today led an Opposition delegation to meet with Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley and his team on the Covid-19 crisis.
Mrs Persad-Bissessar noted that this crisis is unprecedented, and welcomed the Government’s willingness to put aside partisan instincts and work in the interests of the people of Trinidad and Tobago.
She said the Opposition recognizes the need for collaboration to deal with the threat of the Covid-19 viral disease, and assured that the Opposition stands ready, willing and able to assist with the national effort to ensure our citizens’ safety and health are protected.
The Opposition Leader presented a number of recommendations for the Government’s consideration in dealing with the health emergency posed by Covid-19
The Opposition called on the Government to take every available step in ensuring our people are protected, our economy is protected, and we are able to survive this crisis.
Mrs. Persad-Bissessar was accompanied by Fyzabad MP Dr Lackram Bodoe and Caroni East MP Dr. Tim Gopeesingh.
