New Pavilion for Chandernagore Recreation Ground
Chandernagore residents were elated to have a new pavilion opened by the Rural Development Company of Trinidad and Tobago Ltd. (RDC) on Sunday.
RDC officially opened the $2.91 million Pavilion and Community Activities Centre at the Chandernagore Recreation Ground approximately one year after it began construction under the Ministry of Local Government.
“31 pavilions have been completed by the Ministry of Local Government in one year”, stated Minister of Works and Infrastructure, Dr. Surujrattan Rambachan who commenced the project in his former capacity as Local Government Minister.
Member of Parliament for Couva North, Ramona Ramdial expressed her heartfelt thanks to RDC and Dr. Rambachan on another delivered project in Couva North. “The Chandernagore Pavilion and activity centre will be well utilised by residents, especially young people”, she said as she promised to have the Ministry of Sport sponsor a table tennis board for the facility.
Ramdial pledged to continue working hard to represent Couva North effectively and shared future plans to continue upgrading Chandernagore and other recreation grounds for the communities.
