MP Khadijah Ameen calls on authorities to deal with crime
Member of Parliament for St. Augustine, Khadijah Ameen is pleading with authorities to intervene as crime continues to spiral out of control. The call comes after a mother of three was murdered yesterday in St. Augustine. According to media reports, Annisa Ramkissoon was shot and killed at her home when three gunmen stormed the Trainline area in the vicinity of Freeman Road mere meters away from where 16 year old Darshan Ramnauth was murdered weeks ago while trying to protect his grandmother.
On January 26th 2023, MP Ameen issued a release on the impact of crime in the area which the government ignored. Today’s incident should have been prevented had the government displayed any compassion and acted upon MP Ameen’s request. Instead three young children including a one month old baby will have to grow up without the love of a mother. MP Ameen is expressing her deepest condolences to the family of Annisa Ramkissoon as she continues to beg for intervention from the government and authorities. She is outraged that the government continues to display a lackluster approach to crime as we entered March with over 100 murders already on record.
