Moonilal responds to the EMBDC Claim: It a continuation of a campaign of political persecution
Today I became fully aware of a High Court claim filed by the Estate Business Development Company (EBDC) against me and others. Remarkably the EMBDC has now taken court action against 10 entities including their own employees and contractors. A state company that could not provide one single lot of land to the former Caroni workers in two years is now suing 10 persons and entities.
The EMBDC has spent over 8 million dollars on audits, legal and consultancy fees in 2 years. The EMBDC has no money to pay contractors for work but suing me and spending million of dollars. This company operates in the red, yet is now exposed by Al Rawi and Young to legal costs including damages which can run into millions of dollars. Again the taxpayer will have to pay for the malice and spite of the Rowley led PNM.
This is a continuation of a campaign of political persecution embarked against the more vocal members of the opposition. Essentially it is two politicians suing one politician. We know the allegations, the two alligators are the Al Rawi and Young.
It is the second state company to sue me in two years. Last year they used Cepep to seek an injunction to silence me, which failed at the Court. This is not the first time or the last time the PNM will come after me with fake and fabricated allegations.
This matter has come to the fore when I filed a private motion on Housing due to be debated this coming Friday November 24, 2017. At this session of Parliament I intend to raise and locate matters of grave criminal conduct at the feet of the government, including money laundering. With supporting evidence.
I imagine that as the Rowley led PNM government gets more desperate with the Kroll report on the “fake oil”, the Sandals pull out after all their grand announcements and the diplomatic snub from the Chinese they will be looking for a weapon of mass distraction. This is an attempt to distract from their lack of performance, incompetence and corruption.
I will not be cowered by the PNM in what is clearly an act of political persecution. They first started to attack members of the opposition and have now moved to civil society as shown by the obscene and unwarranted arrows pointed at the respected Reginald Dumas.
They continue to oppress the most vulnerable in society. I will not be silenced and I eagerly await my day in court and more importantly my day at the polls when this wicked PNM will be dealt with. I have retained former Attorney General Anand Ramlogan SC and a team of lawyers to handle this matter. No amount of make up and slick dance moves will be able to save them!
