Message from the Leader of the Opposition to SEA students
The Leader of the Opposition urged both students and parents to be calm and remain focused. “I know you may be feeling some anxiety at this time and it can seem overwhelming, but you have the months of dedication, diligence and hard work which will carry you through this step in your education,” she said.
“Earlier this week I had the pleasure and privilege to meet with several students from primary schools in my own constituency in Siparia, and I was inspired by their determination, their talent and skill,” the Opposition Leader said. “I am heartened that with young people like these and indeed all our young ones across the country, the future of our country is in good hands.”
Mrs. Persad-Bissessar reminded the SEA students that the examination is one step along the path to knowledge, personal growth and development.
“As you complete this step and look to the future, I urge you to become a life-long learner – seek knowledge always and look at ways in which you can use this knowledge and the skills you acquire along the way to help build your community,” she said. “Remember that the SEA does not, and will not define you. You are in charge of the person you will become, and it is up to you to take up the challenges and opportunities that will come your way.”
“As you walk into the examination room on Thursday morning, stay focused on your goals, and the task at hand,” Mrs. Persad-Bissessar advised. “I wish you all the best, and good luck!”
