Lights for La Fortune, Woodland Recreation Ground
Recreation grounds – a tool for crime fighting
THE Ongoing commissioning of recreational grounds across the country is being used as a deterrent in leading away young persons from a life of crime, according to Minister of Public Utilities, Nizam Baksh.
He said so following the lighting of two recreation grounds in La Fortune and Woodland, La Romaine on Wednesday evening.
Delivering the feature address at a ceremony to mark the installation of the lights at the La Fortune Recreation ground, Baksh said young people were “distracted” today. The lighting of these grounds is one way to bring communities together, as families engaged in sport and other positive activities.
He said young people can look forward to evenings getting involved in sporting activities with the lighting and upgrade of recreation grounds.
