Charles: PM shows sensitivity, resolution and leadership in Kublalsingh matter
Unable to win support for his platform against the south Highway Extension, Dr Wayne Kublalsingh now hopes to broaden his struggle against what he sees as “corruption” enlisting every issue, from any and every quarter, as the new reason why he is staging his hunger strike.
To that end he is now recruiting every individual or organisation and all opposition groups who have a grouse about anything in support of his actions.
In doing so he is belittling the cause for which he has engaged the attention of the citizenry. It now appears that anyone with a grouse has his willing ear. Whether it be flooding, a pay increase, a need for a house, funding for a favourite project or “whatever” you jump on the Kublalsingh bandwagon.
It is a piece of silly theatre that makes a mockery of what he claims was his major contention. What does he now expect, that every one of his/their issues, be addressed as a matter of urgency?
We cannot allow the greater good of the country to be held ransom to Dr Kublalsingh and his new found friends.
We believe in the rule of law and are guided by its principles. Our Courts have consistently ruled against him.
To operate outside the rule of law will result in anarchy where anyone with a grouse can manipulate the entire country.
The party supports the statement by our Prime Minister. She has shown sensitivity, resolution and leadership in the matter.
