Project 40 should fast for genuine cause
Dear Editor:
I admire the exuberance of youth. Once they identify a cause, they dive headstrong into their task, giving their all with enthusiasm. However, sometime their exuberance can be misguided. I believe this time it is.
Project 40 has pledge their support for Dr. Wayne Kublalsingh’s cause. However, his efforts are slowly becoming unhinged. and people are coming to see that he is not genuine with his efforts. Constantly shifting the goalpost to suit your story, not adhering to the rule of law and carrying out a “farce” would not win you many friends in the long run. This is slowly becoming the case with Dr. Kublalsingh.
Project 40 could fast for poverty eradication in Trinidad and Tobago. They could fast to encourage youths to take their education opportunities seriously, so that they could break the vicious cycle of poverty in which many are trapped. This is a country in which their are many opportunities available, in fact tertiary education is free for many. We are one of the few countries in the world in which this is so.
Project 40 could also fast for the eradication of violence against women, for the adaptation of a healthy lifestyle or even for the road safety and safe driving practices.
Hitching their wagon to Dr. Kublalsingh’s runaway horse is indeed unfortunate for these enthusiastic youth. Choose your causes wisely!
