Hats off to PTSC
THE EDITOR: I am a regular commuter on our nation’s roads and very often I use the services of the Public Transport Service Corporation. I must say “hats off” to the Minister of Transport, the Honourable Chandresh Sharma and also the Chairman of PTSC Board the former MP Dr Vincent Lasse, and by extension the entire management and staff.
The bus service is functioning efficiently and very punctually, and one can rely on this service. Buses are now going to the most remote places in Trinidad and Tobago, for example, Woodland, Avocat, and Icacos. Long ago commuters experienced endless headaches to get in and out of some of these areas. Buses now go to UWI so students can rely on this means of transport. Schoolchildren in uniform and persons over 60 now travel free.
I have also observed some smaller buses now being used to convey the differently-abled to their destination. One word of caution to commuters, please take good care of these buses. To the customer representatives, continue the courteous way in which you deal with the public — very soon I will be turning 60 so I will be travelling on PTSC for free.

This is very good news .Although I am comfortably retired in Canada I am happy when I read positive things like this about TT. This is a government that is thinking about the welfare of its citizens .
