The PNM Fails T&T’s Youth Again
The Prime Minister and by extension his government Ministers continues to display arrogance, insensitivity, and downright disregard to the citizens and especially the talented youths of this country.
The Trinidad and Tobago Under 17 Girls Basketball Team which is a National Team plans to participate in the Centrobasket Qualifiers in Nicaragua from July 25th-31st 2022.
However, the Minister of Sports and Community Development (Shamfa Cudjoe) continues to display her incompetence by neglecting to financially support this initiative through her line Ministry, consequently the parents are seeking financial support by establishing the “GoFundMe” project.
Whilst this happens the Minister continues to twiddle her thumbs and reminisce on her hopscotch days, notably these youngsters have trained and disciplined themselves in their chosen field of endeavour.
They now face a bleak future all because of the inaction of this incompetent, pompous Minister of Sports and Community Development.
The Prime Minister disseminated to the nation at large that indeed the major challenge facing youths in Trinidad and Tobago was parenting and how ironic is this situation.
If this PNM government is serious about steering youths towards a more productive lifestyle away from crime and deviant behaviour, this is definitely a case for financial support.
I urge the Prime Minister to immediately walk the talk and direct his Minister of Sports and Community Development to provide the requisite funding, failing which she should be relieved of her portfolio forthwith.
These youngsters deserve financial support as they seek to fulfill their ambition and bring glory and honour to the nation.
Over to the government now for action.
