MP for Couva South Rudranath Indarsingh extends condolences to the family of Jesse Beephan
The Member of Parliament for Couva South the Honourable Rudranath Indarsingh has extended his condolences to the family of the late 16-year-old Jesse Beephan of Heliconia Drive, Roystonia, Couva and the Principal, Staff and students of the Waterloo Secondary School as a result of Jesse’s tragic murder.
The blood of this young student and the pain, trauma and suffering of his family lies squarely on the hands of Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley and his Government over their failure to arrest the spiralling, out of control crime situation in the country since September, 2015.
Yet another young citizen’s life has been violently snuffed out at the hands of criminals… we will never learn the true potential of young Jesse and the positive contribution that he could have made to Trinidad and Tobago.
How many more of our young sons and daughters must die before this Government institute joint police/army patrols in Couva and the rest of the country?
When will citizens have the presence of the much-needed police posts, adequate vehicles and overall security personnel in the Couva Police Station and indeed the rest of the country?
The Rowley-led Administration has been engaged in an exercise of public relations through bringing legislation to the Parliament to deal with the backlog of cases in the judicial system of the country but has failed to send a strong and decisive message to gangs and criminals.
Our citizens continue to live in constant fear as this explosion of violence continues to threaten their daily security and safety.
As Member of Parliament for Couva South where young Jesse Beephan lived, I am indeed saddened by his tragic death and angry that yet another young life has been violently ended.
I am forced to ask how many more must die and how much blood must be spilled before decisive action is instituted by this Prime Minister, his three Ministers of National Security and his Acting Police Commissioner for the well being of the citizens of Couva and Trinidad and Tobago.
