Couva North Celebrates Divali at Limehead Road
DIVALI celebrations hosted by Couva North MP, Ramona Ramdial were held at the recently opened Limehead Road Public Park on Tuesday evening to the delight of her constituents.
Indian dancing, singing and other cultural items were featured following Lakshmi Puja and the traditional lighting of Diyas.
Ramdial spoke of the development of the park in which celebrations were held, “This Park was once utilized for illegal vending and as a car park for the Rich Gold Hotel across the road. Now, with recent fencing and filling of land, we are going to convert this space to a public park for the residents of Chase Village and environs.”
She ended by stating that the new park was a gift from the People’s Partnership Government to the people of Chase Village and threw the challenge of naming the park to the community as she wished them a “Shubh Divali”.
