Bunsee Trace Farmers met with Prime Minister
A group of farmers from Bunsee Trace, Rock Road, Penal, met with Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar SC at her Constituency Office on Tuesday to discuss the status of their farmers’ licenses.
In attendance were Minister of Food Production, Devant Maharaj, and Minister of the Environment and Water Resources, Ganga Singh. The farmers and members of the Village Council met with the PM the previous week to find out what progress was made with regard to the construction of the Bunsee Trace Community Centre.
These villagers in the past used a Carat Shed for holding meetings and it was a commitment made by the Hon. PM to assist them in getting a Community Centre.
The residents also raised concerns about the agricultural roads. A request for a recreational ground was also made and PM spoke to Mr. Kumar Koonolal State Land Commissioner, to address the matter and advise accordingly. Their requests for their Agricultural Leases will also be looked into by Minister Maharaj.
