Wayne Sturge is a seasoned attorney-at-law with over 26 years of experience in criminal defense, and the UNC’s candidate for Toco/Sangre Grande. Known for his sharp legal mind and fearless courtroom advocacy, he has been involved in numerous high-profile cases and has mentored a new generation of criminal law practitioners.
Sturge previously served as an Opposition Senator for the United National Congress, where he consistently advocated for justice reform and civil liberties. His broader public service record includes roles as Chairman of the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board, member of the National Carnival Commission, and member of the Law Reform Commission. Through these appointments, he contributed meaningfully to victims’ support programs, cultural governance, and legal policy development.
Now seeking election to the House of Representatives, Sturge is committed to applying his extensive legal and public-sector experience to tackle key issues in Toco/Sangre Grande, including crime reduction, justice reform, and community development. With a firm belief in fairness, opportunity, and service, he aims to deliver principled, results- oriented representation to the people of the constituency.
