UNC Youth Arm Chairman – Self Introspection needed before UNC can move forward
In the past days the Youth of the UNC have looked on amused as many Former Ministers and MPs from the past Peoples Partnership Administration blame the election defeat solely on the Leadership of the Honourable Kamla Persad Bissessar and calling on a change within leadership.
The Youth Arm finds it very ironic as many of these Former Ministers held prominent positions both in the Cabinet and the National Executive of the UNC.
We therefore ask the following questions
1) Was the principle of Collective Responsibility abandoned ?
2) As a team were they not all supposed to work together to ensure victory at the polls ?
3) Were they aware of the impact the many allegations against a few of them had on the national public ?
Therefore it can be said many of those expressing a need for change were actually part of the UNC’s Political Devaluation.
Over the past years the Political Leader of the United National Congress Hon. Kamla Persad Bissessar polled higher in the ratings as opposed to the entire UNC because of the same Former Ministers and MPs lending to low political points.
It is therefore a sad day in the Party’s History when many of those who were disliked by the Party’s membership and even rejected in the 2010 Internal Election now seek to bring change and call for a change in the leadership.
At this time what is needed is deep self-introspection by those calling for change and examine how they themselves have failed the UNC and its membership.
The Youth Membership and Youth Executive stands firmly behind the Incumbent Political Leader of the United National Congress.
