UNC Women’s Arm: PNM should stop the blame game and start working
The UNC National Women’s Arm notes with distaste and disappointment the attempt by the PNM Women’s League to deflect and distract from the real issues that are currently plaguing the residents of Beetham Gardens and have sought to lay blame on the UNC. The PNM Women’s League is accusing the UNC of trying to “divide and rule” in their Press Release however after the performance at the PNM Sports and Family Day held on Sunday one can clearly discern who is guilty of trying to “divide and rule”.
The UNC Women’s Arm notes that there was a deafening silence from the PNM Women’s League as a portrayal of a woman being assaulted was cheered on by supporters, where was the Women’s League to stand with our sisters against such distasteful acts?
The residents of Beetham Gardens genuinely need assistance and deserve proper representation which is clearly lacking in their current Representative, yesterday’s events was seemingly a culmination of years of neglect and a cheap attempt to use the suffering of the residents as a form of PR.
The UNC Women’s Arm calls on the PNM Women’s League to retract those frivolous accusations and refocus their energies on providing assistance to the residents of Beetham Gardens who were victims of flooding during the heavy rainfall and ensure they are given better Representation!
The UNC does not condone such acts and we would like to remind the PNM Women’s League that while we uphold our watchwords of Discipline, Production and Tolerance we also believe in proper Representation of the citizens of this country which we have been mandated by our Political Leader Mrs Kamla Persad Bissessar!
