UNC: Today the United National Congress celebrates 30 years of service to our nation

On this auspicious day, the 30th anniversary of the United National Congress, we take a moment to appreciate our evolution into the only political party that embraces every and any citizen who desires to serve our country.
Along the way to this significant milestone, we have expanded and matured into an organisation that has set the standard for good governance and progressive policy development.
Our evolution is characterised by equity, inclusivity and participation.
Now, more than ever before, there is a need for greater political participation across the country. We need more women and men, of all ages and backgrounds, to come forward and engage in national service.
In order for us to truly chart a way forward and develop policies that would take us all into a brighter future, we need as many voices as possible to join the conversation and just as many hands to get the work done.
It is your time to step up and serve!
At the heart of it, we all want the same things; transparent and accountable governance, improved healthcare, more education and training opportunities and of course, a safer Trinidad and Tobago.
We want a society of true democracy exemplified by equal opportunities and justice for all.
We want a nation that prioritises human development and quality of life even as we strive towards economic advancement.
The enthusiasm we saw at our celebrations this past weekend, shows that the United National Congress is vibrant and ready to do the work necessary to take Trinidad and Tobago forward.
We sincerely thank the thousands of members of the UNC family who joined us in celebration on Sunday. Your work and support will take our country to new heights.
To our founders, we express heartfelt gratitude for ensuring that these tenets were enshrined in our Party’s DNA. We also thank the many public officers and volunteers who have selflessly given of their time and expertise to the Party’s endeavours over the years. Finally, we take this opportunity to call on all citizens to join us as we strive towards collective progress.
Together, we celebrate another sunrise.
