UNC Knocks PM’s Pathetic Attempts to Cause Racial Discord Ahead of Elections
Keith Rowley is again trying to divide the population by purposefully using the word “black” instead of “blank” with the hopes of stirring a racial argument to distract the population from his failed tenure.
The term used – which, to be clear, was “blank man” in reference to Dr Rowley’s complete lack of ideas, vision or plan. Indeed, it’s also a reference to his entire term in office which is blank. We encourage everyone to look at and read the entire contents of Mrs Persad Bissessar’s speech which was pre-written and they will see that the word blank was a theme to describe the Failed Rowley Government and was used over a dozen times.
This is politics at its lowest and most dangerous since Keith Rowley risks inciting racial discord in Trinidad and Tobago because of his reckless statements.
Even if he misheard what was said, the connotations are so severe that one would assume that Rowley would confirm that what he was about to allege is indeed the truth before making such heinous accusations.
The fact remains that Keith Rowley has no plans, a track record of failure and is desperately trying to inject race into his campaign as he has nothing substantial to offer to the population.
The party I lead, the United National Congress, continues to advocate for unity as we can only rebuild our nation together.
Today, as our team of candidates file their individual nomination papers, this is the first step in the process to rebuild our nation, return good governance and get our country working again.
We have a strong, capable, talented and diverse team, and most importantly we have a plan to move our country forward.
In my speech last night, I outlined a number of projects and initiatives we plan to implement when we return to office to create new jobs so that people can take care of their families. These include the launching of the new Digital Economy, the Biotechnology Manufacturing sector as well as the abolishing of several nuisance taxes such as the online tax.
We have already seen the desperation of the Keith Rowley administration, and we expect that he will continue with his destructive campaign, but we are focused on the issues that matter to people.
I have called upon my team to ensure that we run a clean campaign. We continue to ask of the population to not be side-tracked by these low attempts to divide but rather to ask serious questions of their candidates.
Again, I encourage everyone to review our National Economic Transformation Master Plan and see the policies and proposals we have for creating 50,000 new jobs and putting more money in your pockets by lowering your taxes.
Let me ask: Have you heard of a single plan from the PNM?
They have no achievements to campaign on so expect them to campaign on insults and innuendo, expect them to campaign on division and lies.
The UNC will campaign on plans and policies and with people at the centre.
On August 10th I call on citizens to reject the failed Rowley PNM that has done nothing for the people of T&T and vote for the leader and team with a plan to move our country forward – the United National Congress.
