UNC: Keith Rowley Needs to Stop His Deranged Obsession With Smearing the UNC
We are concerned with Keith Rowley’s unhealthy obsession with smearing the UNC, while Trinidad and Tobago suffers more and more pain under his failed leadership.
On Wednesday, the Prime Minister gave a vile, unstatesmanlike and disgusting answer to a question about the Government’s third rejection of the Patriotic bid, gratuitously maligning the Leader of the Opposition, Mrs. Kamla Persad-Bissessar.
His recent rantings on the THA election platform take his madness to a new level, compromising his leadership of the National Security Council.
Once again he has brought the UNC into an election where we are not even contesting.
Even if it were true, so what?
What is his reason for doing so? Why does he think this is useful to his campaign over there? What sort of jumbie is he chasing?
So what if the UNC contested in Tobago or partnered with a party there? What is the scandal in that?
The fact is that we are not contesting the election in Tobago, and neither are we partnering with any party. But Keith Rowley wants to bring the UNC into the centre of his campaigning, like a manic stalker.
His desperation to divert attention from his corrupt, incompetent PNM feeds into his insanity.
Using his position as Prime Minister and Head of the National Security Council, he weaves a story — an transparent lie — that he possesses secret and confidential information proving that the UNC is working with the PDP.
First of all, why is this a matter of National Security? There would be nothing illegal about the UNC working with any party in Tobago.
Secondly, why is he using confidential security information on the campaign trail instead of taking it to the responsible security forces?
Is the National Security apparatus being used to win elections for the PNM, under the Chairman’s (Rowley’s) direction?
Keith Rowley appears to need serious mental help. His obsession with smearing the UNC is unhealthy, and may even endanger the State. Dr. Rowley should temper his preoccupation with the UNC and instead govern the country responsibly, with balanced mind.
