T&T gets AAA rating from CariCRIS
Posted On 18 Jul 2013
Trinidad and Tobago has received a AAA rating from the Caribbean Credit Rating Agency (CariCRIS).
Finance Minister Larry Howai made the announcement at Thursday’s Post Cabinet Media Briefing.
He noted that Trinidad and Tobago usually receives ratings from Standard and Poors, Moody’s and CariCRIS.
Minister Howai noted that the rating agency took into account Trinidad and Tobago’s low financing requirements, sound fiscal flexibility, relatively low public debt and real public growth.
He said CariCRIS also identified this country’s well educated labour force, and strong manufacturing sector.
Great position to be in, positive grow is always good for investors and exporters alike. Besides TnT have enormous potential for growth simply because there is a unique “niche” market for TnT goods abroad and with a large diaspora in North America it certainly helps.
