The rule of “integrity”
While politics may have a moral of its own, the office holders within the Integrity Commission don’t. There are principles governing this commission and the way that they should operate. The mere fact that this is the “Integrity” commission implies that at no point in time should any member of the commission jeopardize the outlook of that entity by always doing the right thing.
This is because the commission is mandated under the Constitution to ensure that persons in public life and persons exercising a public function comply with the laws governing integrity in the fulfillment of their duties and responsibilities to the people they serve.
If the Chairman of the Integrity Commission cannot see where he has erred, then he must tender his resignation to His Excellency the President and let the President decide. At present, the population cannot say without a doubt that his office has not been compromised.
Mr. Gordon should step down and show the nation what the word integrity really means.
