SEW approvals in 30 minutes

One of the featured attractions at the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Investment’s Boulevard at TIC 2013 is its award winning TTBizLink Services. The link won the UN’s Public Services Award.

TTBizLink is the IT platform known as a Single Electronic Window(SEW), designed as a one-stop-shop, where private
stakeholders and approving Government agencies can collaborate to process necessary permits and approvals online in a seamless and efficient manner.

Since the launch of the Ministry’s Certificate of Origin (CO) e-service on SEW in February 2012, persons have been receiving approvals for applications submitted via this SEW within 30 minutes.

This electronic platform, which is known as TTBizLink, is accessible via www.ttbizlink.gov.tt and provides for CO applications issued by exporTT which cover preferential goods from CARICOM, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic and Venezuela.

Members of the public can also apply via TTBizLink for COs for non-preferential goods as issued by the Trinidad and Tobago Chamber of Commerce of Industry and Commerce. Companies using this e-service continue to affirm and validate the significant improvements in the processing times for COs. Here is what two of TTBizLink’s CO customers had to say.

Hyline Label Company Limited’s Frank Mahase said, “I find this online system to be working effectively and it is very convenient as it eliminates the hassle of having to go into the Agency in person and wait for approvals. I received approval of my Certificate of Origin within five minutes of sending them through this service.”

Through TTBizLink persons can also apply for e-services related to Company Registration, Fiscal Incentives, Import Duty Concessions, Import/Export Permits and Licences and Work Permits.

To access TTBizLink is simple. You must first register with ttconnect via www.ttconnect.gov.tt where you will receive your unique identification number and then enroll on TTBizLink for the e-services you wish to access.
