Saddam Hosein is an accomplished attorney-at-law and the sitting Member of Parliament for Barataria/San Juan. Called to the Bar in 2014, he has practiced extensively in both criminal and civil law, building a strong reputation for legal advocacy and public service.
He holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus in Barbados, where he was elected President of the Trinidad & Tobago Students’ Association—an early sign of his leadership potential. He went on to complete his Legal Education Certificate at the Hugh Wooding Law School, graduating with distinction. His achievements included placement on the Principal’s Honour Roll and receiving the prestigious Justice Wendell Kangaloo Advocacy Award.
Hosein began his parliamentary career as an Opposition Senator, serving for three years before being elected to the House of Representatives in the 2020 general election, where he became the youngest MP in the 12th Parliament.
Now in his early 30s, he is widely recognized for his bold advocacy on legal reform, transparency, and good governance. As he seeks re- election, Saddam Hosein remains committed to delivering strong, accountable representation for the people of Barataria/San Juan.
