Rob Peter to pay Paul
The Editor:
The call for the removal of the Energy Minister Mr. Kevin Ramnarine due to allegations of excessive spending by National Gas Company board of directors in their communications department by Oilfields Workers Trade Union president general Ancel Roget is baseless.
Its seems to be the more you perform, the more you get attacked by opposing forces. Let’s be real. Firstly, it’s an allegation that needs to be investigated. The Minster has put together a team to investigate.
I must support Mrs. Paula Gopee-Scoon comments about the possible suspension of the officials, including Ramnarine. She categorically stated that “at the moment, the moment they are just allegations in newspaper reports and therefore, now, there is no reason to fire these people because of a newspaper report. “To fire these people because of a newspaper report will be totally irresponsible.”
In any event, the board of directors at NGC is liable to account for this any breach in expenditure.
I have observed the tremendous amount of work done by our current Energy Minister to enhance our reserves, shipping capabilities and foster new research. It would be a hard blow for T&T if he has to be a part of the saying “Rob Peter to pay Paul.”
