Prime Minister was not out of character!
Posted On 14 Jun 2014
Dear Editor:
The Opposition, in keeping with their character, has widely criticised the Prime Minister for her decision in the Anil Robert’s situation. However, the Prime Minister cannot be faulted for her the decision she took. In the past, once presented with key evidence, she acted with decisiveness and sternness, making the tough decisions to dismiss some of the key members of her Cabinet for their acts which lacked discretion. It is key to note that she acted once the evidence was clear and compelling. In this case, could we say with 100% certainty, that the evidence is clear and compelling? I think the Prime Minister is acting consistently and with fairness in this case, as with all her tough decisions before.

Cheryl Duncan, clearly you do not understand the procedures for dealing with matters of the nature of the Ministers alleged actions in the video.
1. It is clear that the minister was engaged in questionable actions.
2. The Minister is not, as yet, charged with any criminal conduct.
3. This matter falls under the employer/employee relationship and as such the yardstick for making a decision to discipline is not one of “beyond reasonable doubt” but on one of “on the balance of probability”. and as such the PM should have disciplined the Minister.
The appropriate sanction in this case would have been to ask the Minister to resign, failure of which should have been dismissal.
You guys should stop burying your heads in the sand and exposing your posteriors.
