PNM has failed us
The Editor:
Statistics have confirmed the details in a letter published late last year that “the People’s National Movement (PNM) bounces back like the proverbial bad penny almost ritually every five years since it first lost an election in 1986.”
The difference with 2015, however, is that this population has burned too many times to turn to them. We have been like little children to our parents. No matter what they do to us, we humbly go back to them. It’s a true misconception to think that the PNM is a good parent if any at all.
If however the majority thinks otherwise, it would be the most retrograde step in our history. We must remember that the PNM must be held responsible and accountable for our current maladies. Every time they were voted out of power, and another party tries to fix their mess, that party gets voted out then the PNM dismantles all that the previous government tried to do.
We must be realistic in our thoughts; any government that replaces the PNM needs at least ten years to repair the breach. Anything less will keep a country of such immense potential remaining a third world.
