PM attends Americas-Africa Business Forum in Washington
Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar leaves for Washington to attend the Americas-Africa Business Forum
The Hon. Kamla Persad-Bissessar Prime Minister will depart Trinidad and Tobago on Sunday 14th April, 2013 to attend the OAS’s Americas-Africa Business Forum. The Prime Minister will return to Trinidad and Tobago on Saturday 20th April, 2013.
During this visit Prime Minister will meet with William J. Burns, US Deputy Secretary of State and Inter-American Development Bank President Luis Alberto Moreno. Prime Minister will also attend the Americas-Africa Business Forum where she will participate in discussions around the theme of “New Commercial Partnerships for Economic Growth”. At this event, the Hon. Prime Minister will deliver remarks, along with the Prime Minister of Nambia, Dr. Hage Geingob, entitled “Americas and Africa: The Decade Ahead”.
Before returning to Trinidad and Tobago, Prime Minister will also receive an award for her commitment to promoting issues affecting women and children in the Americas at the “Spirits of the Americas” charity event.
Commenting on her visit next week, the Hon. Prime Minister said that she was looking forward to the discussions in Washington and further indicated that this country will continue to aggressively pursue new international partnerships in order to continue stimulating economic growth and further development.
In her absence the Honourable Winston Dookeran, Minister of Foreign Affairs will act as Prime Minister.
