PM at 2013 Clinton Global Initiative
PM KAMLA PERSAD-BISSESSAR will be a featured speaker at 2013 CLINTON GLOBAL INITIATIVE (CGI).
CGI’s 2013 theme, MOBILIZING FOR IMPACT, explores ways that CGI members and member organizations can be more effective in leveraging individuals, partner organizations, and key resources in their commitment efforts.
Mobilizing the right entities—and allowing them to reach their full potential—creates lasting and scalable success. This builds on CGI’s 2012 theme, DESIGNING FOR IMPACT, which encouraged the design of purposeful commitments from the outset.
The annual theme will be carried throughout the various programming of the 2013 Annual Meeting:
PLENARY SESSIONS
Plenary Sessions are moderated discussions, bringing together key leaders to present cross-sector perspectives and methods for mobilizing various entities and resources to address global challenges.
SMALL GROUP DISCUSSIONS
Small Group Discussions are in-depth conversations in which participants focus on specific topics of interest, using alternate lenses and identifying strategies to mobilize for maximum impact.
BREAKOUT SESSIONS
Breakout Sessions mobilize members by providing networking, partnering, and learning opportunities through a number of distinct formats:
• Designing Ideas: In these interactive sessions, members
brainstorm and generate answers to specific “how” questions, creating solutions and refining new approaches to global challenges.
• Commitment Case Studies: By examining a selection of existing
Commitments to Action through an interactive community dialogue, members leverage shared insights and challenges to maximize the impact of their work.
• Commitment Pitches: Commitment-makers “pitch” their
Commitments to Action to an expert panel, then network with the audience to identify new resources and partnerships.
• CGI Conversations: Developed with a variety of media partners,
these panel discussions are moderated by news anchors and taped to air on an international news network at a later date.
