PADARATH: TT OLYMPIC TEAM GIVES US HOPE
Princes Town MP Barry Padarath wishes the Trinidad and Tobago Olympic team best wishes and good luck on behalf of the opposition through a Press release.
He said that the athletes carried the hopes and dreams of a nation who has found itself in stagnation and despair. Padarath indicated that he believes like all of Trinidad and Tobago that our athletes were already winners since qualifying for the Olympics is no easy task.
The Princes Town MP said that the opposition during its time in office demonstrated its commitment to the sport industry and the development of our local athletes through the thrust in infrastructure such as the national swimming centre the national tennis centre and the cycling velodrome. He applauded former Prime Minister Kamla Persad Bissessar for her leadership and vision in making these national centres a reality.
Padarath said that the young people of the country needed to take advantage of these opportunities now available in sport. He further stated that the Trinidad and Tobago Olympic team was among the best in the world and encouraged government to continue investing in our athletes.
He also indicated that the Youth of the nation needed positive role models in their lives and reminded the athletes of the social responsibility they had to the young people who lead them as heroes and idolize them as sportsmen and sportswomen. He congratulated the team for their commitment and service to Trinidad and Tobago and said he was certain that they will be overwhelmed with pride when our twin island state is announced while they are draped in the red white and black.
Padarath congratulated the team for giving of their best towards lifting the international profile of our country and giving hope to a nation that needs positive energy amidst all the negative things happening in our society.
He indicated that he was certain that the hard work, training and dedication of the athletes would pay off and bring them great success and great joy to our blessed nation.
