Opposition Leader: No amount of lies and fake bravado can mask Keith Rowley’s incompetence
Today’s Press Conference told us nothing new. From boasting that we were number one in the world, Keith Rowley is now saying “at least we are better than Haiti.”
No amount of lies and fake bravado can mask Keith Rowley’s incompetence at handling this Covid crisis. The man’s weakness and helplessness were on display today. This country has never seen such an impotent leader.
Had I been Prime Minister, we would have been fighting to save lives, fighting to save the economy, fighting to get vaccines, producing plans to save businesses and most of all creating a way forward to rebuild.
Two weeks ago, Keith Rowley promised the nation that an influx of vaccines is on the way and our borders would soon be reopened.
He has now scaled back his promises about receiving hundreds of thousands of vaccines from the United States and from the African facility. He now stresses that there is no guarantee that we are going to get the quantities he has indicated, or perhaps any at all.
What situation does that leave us with? Permanent lockdown and State of Emergency?
Today, citizens are at home struggling to cope with months of not being able to earn an income, unsure of when they will be able to again. Instead of giving a clear message of timelines so citizens can plan their lives, Rowley offers nothing but confusion.
In addition, his failed team continues in their positions. The Ministry of Health propaganda team appear to continuously be justifying themselves and praising their own efforts, ignoring that we now have among the highest covid death rates in the world.
The same failed medical team now turned propaganda team of Deyalsingh, Parasram, Abdool Richards, Hinds and Trotman have been in charge for 16 months and 700 deaths. One hundred more people have died since I last called for changes to be made seven days ago. How many more must die before changes are made?
Deyalsingh and his failed team also appear to be engaging in a pappy show by stretching out the distribution of vaccines. In almost every location, within two hours in the morning the vaccines are done. The Ministry is suffering the population to create the illusion that they are vaccinating continuously.
The Opposition reiterates our call for non-essential workers to be given opportunities to earn an income, pay their water and electricity bills, loan installments, rents, mortgages, and grocery bills. The suffering that Keith Rowley is imposing on this country is too much for citizens to bear much longer.
