National Security Ministry Launches Community Comfort Patrol Program
The Ministry of National Security in its unrelenting quest to improve our citizens’ perceptions of crime in communities has commenced its Community Comfort Patrols (CCP) program.
The Community Comfort Patrol (CCP) is a joint initiative between the Ministry of National Security and the Private Security Network Commission (PSNC). The CCP will utilise law enforcement officers from Private Security Companies belonging to the Private Security Network Commission (PSNC) as registered by the Ministry of National Security in residential areas and housing developments to assist with treating both actual crime and the fear of crime.
It is also the intention of the Ministry of National Security to align and sync the CCP program with the Rapid Response Unit (RRU) to merge both the deterrence and detection applications with emergency response applications. Communities will see and benefit from the increased patrols through the combined efforts of our State National Law Enforcement Agencies in addition to the registered and approved Private Security Companies.
Together the RRU and the CCP programs would significantly increase the visibility of Law Enforcement Agencies and Emergency Responders in communities. Through this increased security presence the opportunity to commit crime will be significantly reduced as well as the overall perception of the citizenry in feeling safer, will be improved.
Deployment of the Community Comfort Patrol (CCP) was initially set to begin in three (3) Police Divisions, namely the Western, Central and Southwestern Divisions.
