MP Ragbir launches Baby Milk initiative
On Tuesday the 7th of February,2023 the Member of Parliament for Cumuto/Manzanilla Dr. Rai Ragbir launched the Baby Milk initiative within the Constituency of Cumuto/Manzanilla and continued this initiative on Tuesday the 28th of February,2023. Many families have benefited from this initiative and the MP has even ensured that Baby Milk and Formula are given to new born babies to 3 year olds.
The MP reminds the nation that this initiative was launched due to parents not being able to afford to purchase Baby Milk within the Constituency of Cumuto/Manzanilla. The MP further reminds the nation that it was during the Peoples Partnership tenure in Government it was the former Prime Minister Kamla Persad Bissessar S C who brought about the national Baby Milk Program which was wrongfully discontinued by this Rowley led Administration which the MP totally condemns. Therefore, the MP following the mantra of the Political Leader of the UNC which is to “serve the people serve the people” and that is why he has launched this initiative.
The MP having heard the continued cries of the constituents especially with transportation costs, Dr. Rai took upon himself to head out to the constituency as of Tuesday. The MP also took that time as well to conduct his regular site visits as well. The MP Baby Milk distribution will continue throughout the year and will ensure that every parent will get Baby Milk and Formula and Baby Milk is important for baby’s development and health.
The MP continue to state that our nation’s Children should not be made to suffer in the way this Government is doing to these children. Dr. Rai urges the Government to look into their hearts and to know that children are our future and as Government ought to ensure that our children’s lives are sustained. The MP further states that humanity comes first and when this is done blessing come from above from the Almighty.
The MP stresses that the Minister of Social Development needs to revisit this program as it ensures the sustainability of the lives of a child.
