MP Hosein Condemns Minister Hinds’ Blame Game for Crime
Barataria/San Juan MP Saddam Hosein has condemned the statements made by the Minister of National Security, Fitzgerald Ethelbert Hinds, claiming that citizens are to be blamed for the country’s crime problem.
Minister Hinds’ mind is flooded with irrelevant matters, compelling his mouth to utter such rubbish. He stated, “The Minister blaming citizens for the crime situation reeks of gross insensitivity and a
total lack of concern for victims and their families, who have had to endure the physical, mental,
and emotional scars inflicted by criminal elements.”
MP Hosein lamented that, with the murder toll now surpassing 520, Minister Hinds has lost public trust and confidence in managing his portfolio. The public’s safety and security can no longer be entrusted to Minister Hinds, as his credibility has plunged to an all-time low.
MP Hosein further stated that it is ludicrous for the Minister to engage in a blame game with citizens. He lamented, “This is the same Minister who is now presiding over an alarming upsurge in kidnappings by persons disguised as police officers, yet he cannot offer one systematic solution to address this menace against society. The Minister leaves the country’s borders wide open to drug and gun running, as there are no large vessels to patrol the porous borders. Police stations are in a dilapidated condition, lacking adequate personnel and equipment, while CCTV cameras remain broken and out of commission. He simply believes that throwing more money at the problem of crime will bring about a meaningful solution.” The only person to be blamed is Minister Hinds for the prevailing crime situation.
MP Hosein states that this latest statement from Minister Hinds is not surprising, as this is the very same Minister who openly told the national community that it is not his responsibility for citizens to feel safe.
MP Hosein wishes to remind Minister Hinds of the statement made by Dr. Rowley: “If the
Government cannot deal with the crime situation, then the Government is part of the problem.”
