Moonilal slams “incompetent and clueless” PNM Government
I wish to express my deep concern over the kidnapping of Ria Sookdeo, a law-abiding family person and mother of two infant children. I have spoken to her husband, Mark, and extended those concerns and assured him of my prayers and support.
I urge the law enforcement authorities to work diligently to return Ms. Sookdeo safely.
The abduction is another chilling example of the Rowley regime’s failure to protect the nation despite lofty manifesto and platform promises and the appointment of three Ministers of National Security.
The Government has betrayed the country on crime, as it has done with respect to virtually every other area of national endeavour.
While crime across the world is managed by effective public policy, the PNM Government has removed community patrols and other deterrent programmes, resulting in easier movement by criminals.
The Rowley administration is ultimately to blame for kidnappings and for the continuous spiral in homicides that have made Trinidad and Tobago one of the most violent places in the world.
It is increasingly evident that the incompetent PNM Government is clueless and ineffective in securing the safety and well-being of nationals, and the abduction of Ms. Sookdeo and other major crimes are the graphic results of that gross ineptitude.
I again urge the protective services to work assiduously to solve this crime and assure Ms. Sookdeo’s relatives, friends and colleagues of the country’s support and best wishes.
